Urban Explorations is proud of its professional and talented staff. Our friendly, conscientious and knowledgeable crew are always ready to answer your gardening questions. High standards and commitment to servicing your garden needs are evidenced by consistently successful results in the finished landscape.
The company's founder and Principal, Patricia Olmstead has been in the landscaping business for over twenty years. Her love for the natural landscape and desire to recreate spaces in urban surroundings arose from her earlier life experiences in the rural Midwest. Her skill at designing gardens in the metropolitan settings can also be attributed to a solid base of work experience.
Pat has a Certificate in Landscape Design from The New York Botanical Garden. In 2008 she obtained her Horticultural Therapy certification from the renowned Chicago Botanical Garden 
healing arts program. Statistics have proven that "evidence-based design" improves the health and well being of both patients AND their families.
Most recently her staff was trained to implement green roof design. Ongoing education and learning is one of the most important principles in her company, creating a more motivated staff and inspiring a new generation to be more aware of their social responsibility to the environment and their community.
