Recycling

We use thousands of plastic containers to grow plants and are working with growers who will take back the containers after plantings. This prevents the accumulations of PVC into the environment and saves our suppliers money, and the savings are passed on to our clients.

LED Bulbs

For interiorscapes "grow lights" and fluorescent bulbs cannot compare to LED lights which save energy and also provide the right spectrum of light for the plant to photosynthesize.

Green Roofs

What is a green roof? A green roof system is an extension of the existing roof. It has a high quality water proofing and root repellant system, a drainage system, filter cloth and lightweight growing medium and plants. A green roof can provide many benefits for the client and the environment which are:

Tax incentives -- Mayor Bloomberg has established a program which rewards those businesses that create green roofs and other projects which allow for LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification.

Reduction of Urban Heat Island effect -- Reduction of ambient temperature caused from concrete and surrounding buildings.

Energy Conservation -- Through evaporation and transpiration of water through plants, a green roof cools a building, saving energy.

Storm water retention -- Water is taken up by the plants and returned to the atmosphere through transpiration and evaporation resulting in decreased stress on sewer systems.
